software Channel SalesWelcome to 2011! It's only been a month since we last communicated, yet a lot has
taken place. We had an exciting year-end, from a business perspective, as well as holidays, vacation and time spent
with family, friends and loved ones. While it's too early to discuss business results, I am grateful for the efforts
and contributions each of you made in 2010 and hopeful for an even better 2011.
Our industry, and the market
in general, faced challenges in 2010. Many of you took steps to tighten your belts and focus your sales efforts.
Others found creative ways to be successful and identify new business opportunities. As we look out at this new year,
we should be excited by the prospect of upcoming announcements designed to address our customers' business problems and generate
revenue for us all. With these investments and your sales leadership, it should prove to be a very good year.
We'll be focused on working with you to implement demand generation campaigns, build pipeline and improve your System z Software
skills, as we know these investments will provide significant returns to our respective businesses. Please let me or
your IBM support team know what you need from us to be more successful.

||zBX hybrid showcase now available at TMCC for client events|
On December 6th, the first IBM Smart Analytics Optimizer (ISAOpt) showcase went live on our zEnterprise System,
running on z196 and zBladeCenter Extension (zBX).
Only a few days after physical shipment of the zBX to
Boeblingen this solution implementation represents a major achievement within our zEnterprise Sales Support mission.
In our showcase, which is also available for remote usage, we are executing Analytical Queries, accelerating their run time
from minutes down to seconds with ISAOpt.
Our zBX is configured with a XS-size ISAOpt (7 blades) connected
to the z196 running DB2 for z/OS.
Our zBladeCenter Extension also includes a number of POWER7 Blades, which will
be exploited in upcoming technology proof points demonstrating the values of zEnterprise server in managing heterogeneous
workloads and will be then available for client Proof-of-Concepts also.

Besides our generally available showcases, we are working on further near
