One of the cardinal rules they teach you in any basic writing class is Show,
don't tell -- meaning, don't simply describe what you're talking
about; illustrate it. ("Please don't lick the door, son" has more punch
than "My child needs to work on his hygiene.")
Well, we do a lot of writing here on developerWorks, and we usually do
a pretty darn good job of showing you how to make the most of
software development tools and technologies. But sometimes words alone
don't cut it. That's where our on-demand
demos come in. These quick product walkthroughs use video and
narration to bring technologies to life in a way that words alone cannot. They cover a wide range of products (everything
from business analytics
to WebSphere products) and skill levels (from installation to advanced
functionality). Seeing is believing.
And for those of you who prefer to stick with the more traditional
medium, check out the cornucopia of well-written articles below.
In the meantime, I need to go clean a door.
